F-Spot Photo Manager won't open...no eror message either

I'm using an Acer lap top has Aspire 3680-2682... any way I click on F-Spot Manager it diddles around a bit then nothing happens. No error message, no icon nothing??? I'm inserting the card from camera and can look at photos with other software but not F-Spot Manager???

sounds weird, it works fine om my machine - but try running 'f-spot' from terminal and see if it gives some hint as to why it doesn't start, and then post it here.

i have the same problem... running Linux Ubuntu with gnome or a regular desktop PC.

Please one of you who have this problem, try to start a terminal (from the menu Appilcations -> Accessories -> Terminal) and then type in the commans 'f-spot' without the ' followed by pressing enter.

the solution is to move the executable file to a different directory and run it... that works.

When running from the terminal I get the following:

dva@ammon:~$ f-spot
Starting new FSpot server

Unhandled Exception: System.Exception: Unsupported SQLite database version

I too have a problem opening F-spot from the applications menu. I don't know how to fix the problem since I don't know much about the Ubuntu back ground. Can someone help me please. from the command line I tried to run it and here is what came up:
