folders in home/evolution/cache/http used for?

Asked by Bob

What are all the folders in home/evolution/cache/http used for?

If they are not needed is there an easy way to dump them?

I am thinking that it just adds stuff to a backup of evolution. Though I might be wrong here.

Thanks in advance. Bob.

You can do "du -sk /home/bob/.evolution/*" to compare disk usage between cache and mail.
In my computer, there is only images which can be discarded.
You can do a "rm /home/bob/.evolution/cache/http/??/*".
It has broken anything on my computer.
I simply have to reload the image when I look at at message.

So maybe those files are pictures/items that are in mail that is still in either the trash file or other saved mails?

And if I delete those mails the files in cache/http will disappear?

I tried.
When you definitely delete a message, the image files are still in cache!
I don't know which rule follow evolution to empty the cache.
There is any paramater on it.

Interesting. That folder could really build up in time if that is true.

Can someone with a better understanding of the iner-evolution workings chime in here please?

Under IMAP protocol folder, cleaning is done (message exists both localy and in distant IMAP server).
I use local folder to obsolete folders, which don't change.
I don't use POP, to have a backup at ISP server.

Can you help with this problem?
