How to import and export evolution data?

Asked by T.Johann

How can a person export data from evolution so that MS Office Outlook will understand and accept the data (Like contacts etc.) It looks like the importing part is quite easy.
Thanks

For your contacts, you can use (when your contact book is displayed) File>>Save your contact book as Vcard (or something like that, i've not the english version) this is a format which can be imported in Outlook. For your calendar, in calendar mode, in the calendar's list, right click on the calendar you want to export and "save to disk". You should be able in this way to save it as a .ics or .csv file that is readable by Outlook. For your mailboxes, I don't know. You may try to import the .mbox files which are in a folder in /home/username/.evolution/ (replace username by your one) in Outlook, but I haven't tried it yet.

Hope that it helps you.

How do I import my Gmail contacts to Evolution. I tried with outlook cvs file but the fields don't match so is no use, since I woul have to fix one by one..which kind of defeats the purpose of the import!
