Evolution on a pop/smtp based hotmail account?

My home ISP is Sympatico and they've merged their mail services with Hotmail. Outlook Express and Mac Mail will handle the secure connections.

Evolution will only receive, no matter how I try to configure it, I cannot send. I was on the phone with Sympatico tech suppose for about an hour and we couldn't resolve this issue.

Please advise on this, can Evolution be configured for the connection security requirements of a Micro$oft (MSN hotmail) network?

PS: My wife saw Linux now, I brought the machine home and she LOVES Beryl and the Cube desktop rotation! I'll make her extremely happy if I can figure this e-mail issue out for her.
