problem with receiving mail

Asked by John

it is strange - I've been using evolution for years, and all of a sudden, it downloads mail, receives it into the inbox file (in .evolution/mail/local/inbox) but it wont show up on the inbox display screen in evolution.

The error message is "table inbox has 28 columns, but 26 values were supplied" this is really strange, because I am using the same email provider (islandnet.com) I've been using for the last 14 years, and never had this problem before with any other mail client.

I have tried using other mail clients as a test (Balsa, Thunderbird) but they will not import my "evolution" email files - I've got nearly 4 years of email I don't want to discard, and all that shows up fine in evolution. Its just the inbox thing has somehow messed up. If I rename my .evolution folder and get it to create a new one, everything works fine, but I don't want to have to switch back and forth from various .evolution folders to follow up on recent threads! :-)

TIA for any explanation!

John
