evolution email notifications

Asked by Kayvee

Is there a way to get libnotify style notifications for new email to Evolution? I tried using the Jean Yves Mail Notification Plugin but instead of displaying an unobtrusive notification at the top right corner of screen, it pops up a new dialog box with a bunch of buttons. Is there a workaround or something?

By default it should be showing them when you receive an email. I Evolution go to Edit -> Preferences. Click Mail Preferences and verify that "Display a Notification" is checked.

Also go to Edit -> Plugin Manager and verify "Mail Notification" is checked.

Hope this helps. :)

Hello Tim,
I got it working! I think I know why it was not working earlier. I had
it set to 'Inbox' for 'When New Mail Arrives In' option. Since all my
accounts are IMAP and nothing arrived into the Inbox 'On this Computer',
I did not see any notifications.

A related question (I am not sure if I should make this a new question
or not)... I have three IMAP accounts and I created a search folder that
fetches all mail from the Inboxes of my accounts. Now, the notifications
are set to appear when mail arrives in any folder. Is there a way to
specify only one Search Folder for this part?

Thank you
