Mail going straight to JUNK folder

Asked by Ed

Recently, depsite my having made no changes to the system, all my incoming mail has been going straight to the JUNK folder. Is this a known problem? Is there an solution? I have tried setting up filters to direct mail to the inbox, but these are ignored.

I don't know of an easy solution to this; all I can suggest is that you highlight each message in your Junk folder, and click on "Not Junk" in the toolbar.
The messages will then move to your Inbox folder, and Evolution should then remember that messages from that sender should not be treated as Junk.

You should also check the Junk settings:

In Evolution: Edit --> Preferences --> Mail Preferences (on the left of the new window) --> Junk tab

Another tip regarding un-junking messages is to include the sender in your contacts list.
Most junk filters look at your contacts/address book and if they find a match the junk filter wont tag it as junk.

Having similar problems with mails landing straight in junk mail box

Several accounts existed for several email providers - all the emails arrive OK
All landed in incoming
Filters were then set up to redirect the incoming emails to their relevant folders
This was done on a one-by-one basis
i.e. set up and then test
This at first worked with the first two filters
On the third filter the emails just went to junk
Then all the incomings now ignore the filters and all land in junk
Everything checked in the filters - nothing to be seen
I can see nothing in the email-content itself
i.e. X-Spam flags I cannot see (although here I am not exactly sure of what I am doing/looking for)
Is there a default value somewhere in Evolution that I am overlooking?

Can you help with this problem?
