Junk Mail filter - they use my e-mail address

Asked by bfife911

I am inundated with junk mail and the common factor is they all use my own e-mail address with some bogus name next to it. Is there a filter to stop e-mail, not sent by me and my pop/smtp server, from coming into my into my e-mail box, I would rather it go into my junk mail folder...

I don't have the technical ability to write a filter like that... wouldn't know how to start... I was a few steps above a novice in windows and dos, and completely out of my element in linux so....

I can't be the only one thinking this is an issue...

Thanks

You are right. But we have to deal with SMTP. This means: Simple Mail Transfer Protocol

The most important word is SIMPLE... and that's the problem. No way out.

Please contact your mail server admin... and ask to him to setup a dnsbl as spam filter on the server...

http://spamlinks.net/filter-dnsbl-lists.htm

or ask him to put some more restrictive rules on that mail server...

Hope this helps
