Evolution mail keeps asking for password

Asked by David

Running Ubuntu 8.10 and have just have added updates and Filezilla.
In Evolution mail it keeps asking for my email password & if I type it in it asks again and again.
I have logged on to my ISP using the same user name & password with no problems.
Tried a reboot and restart of Evolution mail - same problem.
Tried deleting the email account and created a new account using
the same (correct) login info - same problem. When I recreated the email account
there was no option to enter password, this was only asked for when clicking on
send & receive. This is not the first time this has happened and I only cured it
last time by deleting Evo and reinstalling.
Any Ideas you guys ??

Open the dialog where you can edit your mail account. On the second tab there is a check box which will make Evolution remember the password.
Note: Storing passwords on your computer can be risky!

This box is ticked on both sending & receiving tabs.
Program still rejects my logon password.
Have deleted evolution and installed Thunderbird & it picked up
my mail immediately !
Thanks for your help anyway Guys.

Like so many check boxes in Linux...the "save my password" check mark does not work ALL the time. Evolution will still - on occasion - ask you for the passwords to all the accounts you have created!
