trash error while expunging folder

I am using Ubuntu 9.04 and have the following message "Error while expunging the folder" when I try to empty the Trash.

I does this with around 80 messages that I cannot get rid off.

Any solution.

Home directory>ctrl+H>local>trash Try to remove it from there.

can you please more explicit? should this command be executed from a terminal window or from outlook itself?

If you have problems removing trash in upper panel>home directory and when you open it hit Ctrl+H and you will see hidden files.Search for .local and inside is trash.Go to the trash folder and delete from there with right click.

I did delete the .local>trash content and still have 89 messages in my evolution trash folder !!!???

I tried the ideas mentioned above and none worked. My trash will not expunge. Pleas help me with this. Thanks.
