Delete Trash older than 6 months

Asked by Oliver Bedford

I want to have the same functionality which is provided by the usual Desktop Trash bins with in Evolution:

First I "delete" a message, which then gets moved into the Trash folder (or something similar).

I then want to be able to expunge certain messages in the Trash (chosen by arbitrary criteria or based on some rule, e.g. all messages older than 6 months).

Is it possible to do this with Evolution?

Regards,
Oliver

Yes you can check the box that says delete messages on exit if you don't need the messages

Your suggestion doesn't help me.

I don't want the complete Trash to be emptied every time I exit Evolution, I want messages removed which are older than 6 months (or which fulfill other criteria).

My guess is this idea of yours is not supported in Evolution, but searching and reading the manual may allude to some solution I'm not aware of:

http://library.gnome.org/users/evolution/stable/

If it is not supported and you think this is a great idea you should feel free to add a 'blueprint' request for it here, or on the official Evolution support site.

Best wishes.
