Messages are being duplicated

Asked by Ted Pritchard

In my Inbox I have a folder that I use to hold incoming e-mails that I want to keep. Now for some reason when I drag a message from the window to my "keep" folder, a duplicate message is placed in Trash. Has my system become corrupted? Have I inadvertently established a rule? How do I fix it?

Well, it seems to be the "normal" behaviour with Evolution (at least on my computer using IMAP): when you move an email from the inbox to another folder, it's copying it into the new folder, and deleting the original email. That's why you are finding it also in the trash. So I would not worry, that's just how the software is working, and nothing is corrupted or lost.
