Evo simultaneously with Win XP and Ubuntu

Asked by StefanHighLow

Hi,

I am currently using MS Outlook as mail program (POP3 server connnection) with mails and archives stored locally on my PC. A big plus for migrating to Evolution would be to be able to access mail, contacts, calender etc under Win XP as well as Ubuntu.
As far as I know the Evolution mail files are stored under Ubuntu in ~/.evolution, so how can I persuade Evolution under both OS to store the data into the same files / folders (e.g. in a "shared" vfat formatted partition)?

Thanks

Stefan

You might softlink the ~/.evolution directory to another place. Like "ln -s ~/.evolution /other/dir/". I'm not able to tell you how to achieve that on Windows (I'm not quite sure if softlinks exist on NTFS). Additional to that, In my opinion the Windows port of evolution still lacks usability and stability.
