How do I resize image attachments in Evolution?

Asked by Natalie Turner

I recently came over to Ubuntu from Windows cold-turkey and was wondering if there is a way in Evolution to attach and image and then have Evolution resize it to make it a less-huge image attachment. So far this is the only feature I miss from Outlook.

Nope no image resize in evolution. I use evolution too and hate the user interface. They really need to fix it in the future.
In answer to your question.
Make a copy of the image and use gimp to resize it.

Hope that helps
Shane

Thanks for the response. I thought that be the case, but wanted to be sure before I wasted more time looking in every single setting.

I don't know what you meant by image resize but here's what I do when I need to resize images. In the compose email window right click your image and choose properties>image. You can choose to modify your image sizes using px or %.

Thank you for the response. When I right click the image, and select properties, there is no image option. I'm currently using Evolution 2.26.1. Are you using a newer version?

I'm also using Evolution 2.26.1 but here's the thing. It works when you insert your image *inline* with your message. Don't use *attach*.
