setting up evolution to fetch hotmail

Asked by pedroparamo

How do I configure Evolution with my hotmail account so that it leaves a copy of each message on the (hotmail) server?

Thanks.

That is in the settings on the msn site. Go to settings on the mail screen.

Hope that helps

Go into Edit > Preferences.
Click on the concerned account, and click on Edit on the right side.
Then third tab, there should be "Keep the emails on the server".

Note: This is for if you are using POP3 to receive your mail. If you are using IMAP, this is automatic (folders are "mirrored" on your local disk).

Found it---thanks!

How do I set it up to use IMAP? Currently I have it set for IMAP in the Receiving Mail tab and I am using pop3.live.com as the server address, and in the IMAP Headers tab I have the "Fetch all Headers " selected; BUT I get the message 'Error while scanning folders in 'IMAP server pop3.live.com'.

I want to mirror my folders. Is this possible with a free Hotmail account?

thanks.

Unfortunately, Hotmail doesn't currently provide any IMAP server.
