Beginner with evolution, need help.

 I registered my email address for evolution. I can't receive or send emails. I presume I did the registering process wrong.
when I tried to send an email I got a "broken pipe" error. Help, please.

You should have received from your ISP, or you should locate them yourself in your ISP homepage, the information needed to configure your email account. In particular:

Username
Incoming mail server type and name
Outgoing mail server type and name

With this information, in Evolution go to Edit --> Preferences --> Mail accounts (on the left) --> Edit (button on right)

and fill the appropriate fields (especially the first 4 tabs).

So you have to use the email provided by ISP or can you also use one created.
