how do get the pics in emails-currently a red cross

my incoming emails have no pics- how do i change this

I guess you're using Evolution (the default e-mail client). By default, Evolution blocks all images from the internet. To enable loading of images for all the messages, please follow these steps:

1. Edit -> Preferences (opens Preferences window)
2. Select "Mail Preferences" in the left pane
3. Select the tab "HTML Mail"
4. Under "Loading Images" section, select your choice (i.e. "Load images in mail from contacts" or "Always load images from the internet").
4. Click Close

While viewing a message, you can click on View->Load images (or press Ctrl + I) to load images.

If you're using some other e-mail client (such as Thunderbird), please name the client.
