printing certain contact information

Asked by Bob

Version 2.24.3 in Ubuntu 8.10

Is there a way to select which fields are printed for a single contact?

The default prints information that I do not need printed.

Thanks in advance. Bob.

Probably not within Evolution itself, but the OpenOffice.org Database Package can access the Evolution Address book, and you can create a report there with selective information,

OpenOffice.org Word Processor also knows about Evolution Contacts. Use Insert > Fields > Other (or Ctrl-F2) and choose the Database tab. Expand the EvolutionLocal > Personal table to get the list of fields. If you choose Mail Merge Fields, you can double click the individual fields. or drag and drop them, to insert them into the document. When you go to print the document, you will get a dialog that will allow you to select which contacts you want to print. You can save this Mail Merge document and use it whenever you want to print Evolution Contacts.

If this answers your question, please mark it as Solved.

So I guess the answer is no?

It would be a helpful feature. Are the default fields changeable anywhere or are they hard coded in?

As far as I can see, the answer is no. But you can head on over to

http://projects.gnome.org/evolution/index.shtml

And see it there is an answer there (I couldn't find one).

Perhaps join their mailing list and ask the question there.

This sounds like a cool feature but my EvolutionLocal that shows in the
Database tab does not expand.
