Asked by Alec Beckwith

How can I export my contacts from Evolution to Thunderbird 2? Or, conversely, import my Evolution contacts into Thunderbird 2? Grateful for any assistance, thanx.

I used the tool at http://labs.brotherli.ch/vcfconvert/ to convert Evolution contacts to csv, then I could successfully import the csv into Thunderbird 2.

Perfect, and really simple to use. Thanks Istvan.

Or use evolution's "hidden" command-line tool:

evolution-addressbook-export --format=csv > evolution.contacts.csv

Your contacts, in CSV format, will be in the file evolution.contacts.csv

The above just exports the main address book. How to modify the command to export any other address books one has created? Thanks.

Problem is it doesn't work. After using the command line export program, there is no such csv file anywhere in my file system.
