can not send e-mail.

error message states that the server does not exist.

e-mail provider is roadrunner, server name is "smtp-server.tampabay.rr.com"

incoming mail server: pop-server.tampabay.rr.com
outgoing mail server: smtp-server.tampabay.rr.com

it exists for me. Open a Terminal from the menu Applications → Accessories → Terminal and type:

ping -c 6 smtp-server.tampabay.rr.com

please reply with output. also give us the output of the terminal command:

ifconfig
