I'm assuming you already set up your email account in Evolution, but just have some configuration issues.

Open Evolution and select Edit -> Preferences

"Mail Accounts" should be highlighted in the left hand pane.
Highlight your e-mail account in the right-hand pane and click "Edit".

In the window that pops up, select the "Receiving E-mail" tab.

Enter the following configuration :
Server Type : POP
Server : mail.talktalk.net
Username : <e-mail address> Enter your full e-mail address "<email address hidden>" as allocated by talktalk.
Use Secure Connection : No encryption
Authentication Type: Password
[x] Remember password

Click OK.

Click Close on the Preferences window.

Click Send/Receive, and when prompted for your password you need to enter your email password.

problem has not been solved talktalk send a user name and password to configure your modem only
as a user you submit an email address and password wich is usually accepted, this is different from your user name with talktalk user name is your phone number

I'm afraid you'll have to take this up with talktalk's customer service department - there's nothing more I can help you with.
