msn http mail

Asked by bob rupert

when i was a windows user, i could use microsoft outlook express to retrieve my mail from the web. there was an option in outlook to use "http" or pop3 or smtp. microsoft said use "http://oe.msn.msnmail.hotmail.com/cgi-bin/hmdata" without the "", and it worked.. i cant seem to find that option in Evolution or Thunderbird Mail. is there a solution? i consider myself a pretty good user in either dos 6.22 or practically any version of windows up to and including windows me, but this is a stumper. i switched to ubuntu when i said asta la vista, if you know what i mean. i have a dell 400mhz machine, pentium II, 80 gig drive, cs4236 sound card, neteverywhere 100 card, and use dos 6.22 to play old, old games. this is my only problem so far. please point me in the right direction.

I hope not. :) Or if you can't get it to work with TB, try this for Evolution:

fheinonen, one of us is a genius, and i'm pretty sure it's not me. thanks so much. i used the hotmail instructions for evolution that you sent. instead "hotmail" i used "msn" in all the instructions. it's still downloading my mail. i'm bookmarking that hotmail page. my kids are going to ubuntu when i figure out all the details. well not all, that would take a lifetime. they are complaining thier computers are too slow!! imagine that. i have ubuntu they May u$e $oMethig el$e. thanks again.
