Evolution 2.22.3.1. Moving email files from one system to another.

Asked by Mike K

Ubuntu 8.04

I want to move some old emails from one computer system to another. I have copied .evolution/mail/local/sent and /inbox to a memory stick, changed the names to distinguish the old files from those in the new system, and copied them to the new system.

The files in inbox work OK. However, the mail in “sent” is no longer listed under TO, SUBJECT, DATE, but FROM, SUBJECT, DATE. I know where they came from – I sent them! How to I get those old emails listed under TO?

Many thanks for your help,
Mike

You can customise your view to show what you want. Select the folder you want to change, and click on View/Current View/Define Views, and customise as you wish. This should do the trick.
