Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs.

I'm assuming that you have uninstalled all of the Evolution related packages in Synpaptic? If this is the case, then it's likely that you have uninstalled 'evolution-data-server-common', which a lot of core applications (including gnome-panel) depend on. This means that you have probably uninstalled a lot of important components from your system.

Please note that you can uninstall all of the other Evolution related packages with no other side effects, but you must leave evolution-data-server-common.

To recover your system, log in to a terminal (by pressing CTRL+ALT+F1) and then re-install the 'ubuntu-desktop' meta-package by typing the following:

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop

Can you help with this problem?
