HELP! Evolution swapped inbox with trash!

Asked by Sbn

I clicked on the Empty Trash button and then Evolution seems to have replaced my whole inbox with the contents of the trash. Trash folder is empty, and when I have preview on the inbox lists all the mail that is supposed to be there but the preview window shows a completely different, deleted mail! I tried to open mail from the list too, and the same thing happens; the titles are right but the contents are wrong! Is it time to start to panic now?

I still don't know what happened, but now I've reloaded all the webmail so I don't need help anymore. Still interesting to know what made evolution behave that way though...

It sounds like you hit a bug on Evolution. One chance would be to delete the summary files, and let Evolution recreate them on the next startup. I am not -- at least right now -- giving out instructions because this is always something that should be done carefully, and I would need more data from you -- your Ubuntu version, and the evolution version.

Can you help with this problem?
