"summary and folder mismatch" error

Asked by Russ Bonanno

Using Evolution 2.6.1 I repeatedly receive an error message that ends with "Summary and Folder mismatch, even after sync" This occurs when starting Evolution, changing folders, send/receive, purging, virtually every action. I cannot seem to find anything related to this in help. Evolution appears to work, I can send/receive, etc. Suggestions?
Thanks.

This is a known bug, and there isn't a fix yet. Though there is a workaround at the bottom of the bug report that you might want to try.

Sorry, please use https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/27014
not the beta link.

Also, there are quite a few posts about it, and people have had luck by just emptying their trash folder in evolution.

This bug was so frustrating. But it turned out to be an easy fix. I didn't back anything up and it worked fine.

#sudo su
#password:XXXX
apt-get remove evolution
apt-get install evolution

Thats it works perfect now

Can you help with this problem?
