i can not play video films from my computer and can not install my brother mfc 210 printer.

I have tried to install some plug ins to enable play videos and DVDs but none of them are working.
Again i tried to download a soft ware for brother MFC210 printer but it did not work .
Can you help me by upgrading my system or updateing my system with some of the software.

Open a terminal window (Applications menu, Accessories) and type

sudo apt-get install brother-lpr-drivers-extra

Then open System menu, Administration and Printing and see if the printer is detected.

Regarding DVD playback there are several guides on how to achieve this with Ubuntu 8.04.1 Hardy Heron

Try this in a terminal window

sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread3/install-css.sh
