How to hide Evolution Sidebar?

Asked by Michael R. Bernstein

I have looked in all the menus and preferences, and even tried right-clicking on the sidebar header, but Evolution no longer allows me to hide the sidebar (folder tree + switcher) entirely. It even stops me from narrowing it below the width of the switcher buttons.

Past versions of Evolution (though I can't tell you when this was removed, exactly) had both menu options and an [X] button to hide the sidebar.

This functionality is important on slightly smaller screens when viewing deeply nested conversation threads that have longer subjects (or subject prefixes).

In the menu "View" (or "Visualize", sorry I have a different language...) you should find "Side Bar".
By removing the tick near this item you should be able to hide the side bar.

Can you help with this problem?
