Setting colours in html mails - no colour picker

Asked by Myles

I wish to set the background colour for an email - and text colours for that matter.

I select html as format, then format page - I am given colour boxes, but if I click on the boxes nothing happens - I'd expect a colour picker to pop up.

Colour selector on tool bar (compose email) also not working.

To be clear - I have selected html format and can use bullets etc... I'm not doing this in plain text.

Am I missing a package in Ubuntu?

Ubuntu Dapper Drake, Evolution 2.6.1

Hello Myles!

Try to right-click on the e-mail message and choose Style -> Page Style...
You can pick both font and background colors there.
Be sure you've checked the Format -> HTML box first.

Good luck!

Thanks for your reply LeoGomez - this gave me another way to access the colour picker, but wasn't itself the asnwer.... It did lead me to descovering that the picker itself is to the right of the box.. just move the mouse to the right and a previously invisible box gets outlined - click on this and the colour picker appears - go figure!
