Emails lost on upgrade to Ubuntu 8.04

Binary package hint: evolution

When I upgraded to Ubuntu 8.04 from 7.10? my emails which were in Evolution In/Sent folders are no longer there. How do I recover the previous emails?

Email client is Evolution which is the default installed with Ubunutu. Email service is POP3 / SMTP
