Asked by Laura Clark

My emails are not sending because the "server is not recognized"
I typed in Verizon DSL, since that is my internet connection. Is this not the correct info. for "server"??

hello,
What would you like to do exactly?
Send E-mails?
Which mail server are you using (if any) ? postfix?

I am having a similar problem, I believe my ISP is blocking port 25 which will not allow me send email using SMTP. However I changed my router to forward all outgoing SMTP channels to port 2525 and i still cant send outgoing mail. Port 2525 was suggested to be used if port 25 is blocked. To be honest i dont know if port 25 really is blocked.

Any help or suggestions would be great.

Adam.

I would suggest both of you to check back with the ISP and ask what SMTP server address and what port to use.

Laura,
I think you are supposed to put the server address instead of "Verizon DSL".
I believe the address for outgoing email server, i.e., SMTP server, is "outgoing.verizon.net" and the incoming mail server, i.e., POP or IMAP server, is "incoming.verizon.net".
