Evolution 2.4 Exchange Button Missing

Asked by WickedImp on 2005-10-14

I'm using the exchange plugin in evolution to communicate with our companies excange 2003 server. Now with Evo 2.4 I'm missing the Exchange button (in the old evolution it was on the bottom left next to the contact and email buttons) to organize the directories and adding/removing Favorite Public Folders. I searched the menu and the account options for a way to access this 'folder browser'.

This button has now been removed as there is now "seamless access to Exchange
through Evolution Mail/Calendar/Task components" apparently. You can see this in the announcement on the Gnome Announcement List:

Ok. But how can I modify the Favorite Public Folders I created with the old Evolution in Evolution 2.4. Because it seems that Exchange Storage is crashing (getting a message box) while trying to access notes, tasks and contact. And I think it is cause I defined those Favorites before and now it tries to access this in a way not good for Evolution.

Hi there,

Sorry I didn't realise you had replied.

I am not entirely sure about modifying them as I don't have an exchange account anywhere.

If you are getting crashes like that I would raise a bug on http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/ because if you are getting it chances are someone else maybe as well. We are still using bugzilla just now for software in main, until the transfer has been done to here (launchpad).

Please make sure you have a search there first before raising just in case someone has already raised a similar bug.

Regards,
Dave
