Evolution mail setup

Asked by rahul

I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 version. Once the Evolution mail setup has been completed with proper informations, Send&Receive reply reply all button are into disabled mode. I've tried more than ten times to set up my account but it's not working properly so pls fix this issue ASAP.

SO if you open Evolution, go to Edit menu and Preferences, do you see and accounts in that window?
Do they have the checkbox checked to enable them?

If not, then you do not have an account setup.
You need to click Add here to create the account.

I am presuming this is the case as you have mentioned that your send/receive button is greyed out/disabled.

Yeah Tony, I've done that too even though after the setup has completed i can't send or receive mails. The send or receive mails option button is disabled.

Can I suggest you try the same account setup under thunderbird to see if you have any better success?

sudo apt-get install thunderbird

Mozilla Thunderbird will then be available under Applications menu, Internet
