Unable to receive IMAP mail from gmail account

I have configured the Receive Mail settings for imap.gmail.com with SSL encryption and password authentication on a Evolution 2.22.1 client but when I press Send/Receive I receive no errors but am unable to receive any incoming e-mail. The SMTP settings are working properly as I'm able to send mail but cannot receive. I also set the port settings for 993 as gmail instructions suggested. Any ideas?

Try it with SSL but without the "Use secure authentication" checkbox checked.

how do you change port settings on Evolution for IMAP. Our Campus uses port 993 instead of default setting as shown below :
