How can I configure printing of the address book?

Asked by Nate Derby

Hello Ubuntu community!

When I print out my contacts from Evolution, it includes many fields that I don't want, such as "File Under", "Full Name", and "Last Revision". Is there any way to tell Evolution to not print certain fields like these?

A secondary question: Is there a way to tell it to print the personal address, but not include the label "Personal Address"?

Thank you so much,

Nate

Hi Nate,

I doubt that Evolution has a sophisticated print function so a solution to your problem could be to ask Evolution to export the contacts to some other format. Hopefully you can open this file then in OpenOffice and delete some columns.

One way to export the contacts to csv file is to execute the following command

/usr/lib/evolution/2.22/evolution-addressbook-export --format=csv > ~/Desktop/contacts.csv

NOTE: you may have to change the version from 2.22 to whatever you have.
