Evolution in french

I updated Ubuntu automatically on Jan 21 2007 and now Evolution appears in english and no longer in french. Also some buttons in Ubuntu are in english, others in French. I don't mind the documentation being in English, but the display pages I need in French. When I open Evolution all the display is now in English.

Same problem for me. I am a french user and I have Evolution, but also Gaim, Gnome CD Creator, and the exit panel in English.

I've tried to change my language setting on the gdm screen but no results.

As a end-user, I cannot understand why these applications, which are included in LTS Dapper Release CD, have been retranslated. I know that it is difficult to manage eveything correctly, but don't forget that for a OS end-user one of the most important things, with the look & feel, is the mother tongue support.

Hope it will be quick fixed :)

Solution :

sudo apt-get --reinstall install language-pack-fr language-pack-fr-base language-pack-gnome-fr language-pack-gnome-fr-base language-support-fr

I did exactly what is indicated, restarted the computer, the problem is entirely resolved.

Note for other users : Restarting the computer is not necessary, you just have to restart your gnome session by logging out. To be sure you can on the GDM screen (the screen with login and pass) click on 'Options' and reselect 'French' as primary language.

I just update to 16.04LTS Ubuntu version. I meet the same issue than previous messages.

I try with the previous solution but it doesn't work.

Any solution ? Thank all for your help.
