unable to execute thunderbird

Asked by David

I am new to Ubuntu or any Linux. I downloaded and extracted Thunderbird now I would like to execute it. The folder that was created has several executables in it. Clicking them does not seem to do anything. How do you run a program?

Thunderbird is in repositories, so it can be installed easy via Add/Remove or Synaptic...

Read this article about installing software in Ubuntu -- https://help.ubuntu.com/community/InstallingSoftware -- you will find there everything you need.
