"Click to show" text

Asked by DavidS

I should like to include some hidden text in an HTML email, with a "Click to show" link to reveal it.

I have tried various things (generally involving Javascript) gleaned from the internet, using the HTML docment editor in LibreOffice and then inserting the HTML file into the mail I am composing.

But so far I have not got this to work. Usually I just get all the text appearing as normal text.

Is there a way to do what I want?

I do not expect that such task can be easily done.

I would not want any active logic running when I look at an e-mail message that I receive. No javascript or similar.

And you have to take into account all kinds of e-mail readers (web mail via browser, or mail clients like thunderbird, etc. etc.)

A possible solution that I see is providing the hidden text on a web page, and you just send the link in the e-mail message ("click here to see the solution", and this opens the web page).

Or you can do it similar to an e-mail that I have already received in the past:
"Text that should be always visible and the information 'scroll down to see the solution'
100 empty lines
hidden text"

Can you help with this problem?
