Import from Office Outlook email and calendar

Asked by Rimedio

I have a Microsoft XP box using Microsoft Office Outlook, not Outlook Express. Is there a way to export the data, both calendar and email to a flash drive and import it in a Ubuntu Gusty machine using Evolution?

Yes you can Rimedio.
From Outlook just export them to CSV, then import it into Evolution.

When I tried this it insisted on importing my calendar .csv file to Evolution contacts instead of calendar. It didn't give me the option of where to put the data. I don't see a point at which the option is offered either on the outlook side or the Evolution side to indicate that these are appointments, not contacts.

I have just put in a bug report with a similar problem. My calendar imports into contacts, which isn't right. Can someone help with this one?

I also need the fix for this subject. Anyone import Outlook mail to Thunderbird?

This is an already answered question related to Evolution...
So please close this one and reopen a new question putting Thunderbird as subject instead of Evolution.

Thank you

The question is already answered? Evolution 2.24.3 still has this problem. What is the answer or where can it be found? The answer is not in "Answers".

I have tried the csv and tab formats to import my outlook calendar to calendar to evolution in the calendar area with NO success. Is this still a bug or how is it done?

Hm. Folks say this question has been answered, but I've tried exporting my contacts as both CSV and TSV text files from Outlook, but when I import the result into Evolution, all the contacts are all messed up, with the elements of each contact appearing in different places for each contact. Phone numbers disappear, zip codes appear as states and so on. It's useless.

I searched and all I found was the suggestion to use the CSV and TSV text formats, neither of which worked. Any other suggestions?

Thanks.
