IMAP subscribed folders are not updated when checking new mail

I have an IMAP account with several folders. I'm subscribed to all those folders via Evolution. When I check for new mail, only the currently active folder is checked. How can I check all folders at once?

In the account settings there should be a preference to 'scan all folders for new mail'. It should be in the 'Receiving E-mail' tab for the account.
