Evolution 3.2.3 onUbuntu 12.4 asks for password frequently
While working in Evolution I get frequent pop-ups asking for my e-mail password. I have checked the settings with Frontier and set them to their specs. This has only started in the last few days, but I think I had it happen before.
In other help locations there were instructions to select "tools" and settings from the Menu bar. My version doesn't seem to have that. I suspect that there is an encription setting that has expired.

I'm finding now that I can't receive messages at all. when I invoke send/receive messages, the window that indicates that is what's happening stays blank, and no request for password appears. I will have to look for your answer on my server in box
Who is your email provider?
What is the output of:
lsb_release -a; uname -a; apt-cache policy evolution

run Evolution under debug mode, and save the output. You can do so by running, from a terminal:
env CAMEL_DEBUG=all evolution >& /tmp/camel.out
then keep on using Evolution as normal. As soon as you encounter the issue, quit Evolution (to minimise the amount of extraneous data in the log), and attach here the piece of the log showing the issue.
then run seahorse and verify that there is no password corresponding to the account?
go to account settings and change imap or pop setting to plain password and no encruption. restart evolution. check email. This will save the password to the keymanager. Now you can change the setting back to secure.
if that doesnt work try to this
If you make a copy of the config directory in your home folder/
if that doesnt work try this
- Close (Quit, not minimize etc.) Evolution
- Open Seahorse (i.e. the passwords manager usually located in "Accessories > Passwords and encryption keys")
- Locate the entry for the Evolutions password (in my case being an exchange account it said something like "exchange://..." I think this may vary a lot depending on the account. Anyway you can find out it is the password stored for Evolution because it shows in the details tab).
- Delete the password entry used by evolution
- Close Seahorse
- Open Evolution
- Input the password and *uncheck* the Remember password check-box
- After evolution loads quit it again
- Re-Open Evolution
- This time when you input the password *check* the Remember password check-box

Thank you. I'll work on this. I don't know what Seahorse is, but I'll find out.
