how to install driver to view CD-DVD media player

Hi,
This is Shaik ghouse ahamed from Bangalore,India and first I would like to tell thnx for sending the Ubuntu 7.10 ver O.S and it look nice and good compare to previous but here I am having some doubts like I have install O.S after I am not able to watch a movie or MP3 files because it says the suitable coder is not install for the same , for this you want me to doenload the driver induvidually for this or how, and if I require for some time like I want to uninstall O.S in that cases what is procedure.

Note:in older one Ubuntu I am not able to see Windows Drives but in 7.10 I can and I can says this is amazing and the desktop looking very nice which come deafault after finished the O.S.

kindly suggest me in this because as you told refferabout thie O.S before I want to be perfect in this , if you have any soft copy or manual like how to use and how to configure the Devises pls forward it across to my id or post if hard copy available.

go to add/remove section available in applications menu
search for gstreamer plugins
click on the codecs you want
and install
it will ask for your password
(you need to be an administrator)
after that you can play mp3 and other stuff
in totem media player

Hi, I have just recently installed Ubuntu and even though I have the gstreamer plugin, my the dvd driver is still not recognized. Can you please help with that?
