Hi,
I have been trying to get evolution to work but having some problems.
I can recieve emails but I cannot send any.
the following message pops up

The reported error was "RCPT TO <email address hidden> failed: <58-7-74-22.dyn.iinet.net.au[58.7.74.22]>: Client host rejected: Access denied".

I have tried using different ports with no success.

The server is a pop type

Thanks,
Phil

This is you ISP stopping you.

Most common causes are

1. You are not connected to your own ISP. Because you are using Wifi and its connecting to a different network, or you are not at home and the ISP where you are is different.

2. Your e-mail settings are wrong.

If (1) check it works at home when logged on to your own network

if (2) Which email client do you use? Most people use Thunderbird or Evolution but there are others. We can advise how to set it up. You will need to know what the settings are: your ISP should be able to help.

Many ISPs block traffic on port 25 when it wants to go outside the ISP because they do not want to be accused of sending SPAM emails: They can control their own SMTP servers but not anyone else's.

Your outgoing server should be SMTP
smtp.live.com:587

for hotmail
