Emails Not Received

I can send emails but I cannot receive them on pop
The system just hangs on the connect button and then times out
I normally need to input a password to the email server but
the Evolution System does not ask me for this password because it is not connecting to ntlworld.com
I have a broadband connection and can connect to the Internet OK.

It sounds like you cannot contact your pop server. Usually pop runs on port 110. You could try bringing up a terminal and typing "telnet hostname 110" where hostname is your pop server. If that connects then its a problem with your evolution setup. If it doesn't connect then its something else. You may first need to install telnet by typing "sudo apt-get install telnet"
