can't send email but receive

when i first stated to us evolution i could send email - i have no problem receiving email - error message "sever not recognized". i have checked preferences and all is the same as when i started - no changes. Why would the incoming work but not outgoing?

Have you changed locations or ISPs? Sounds like an SMTP server configuration issue.

if you not change anything in smtp server config, contact your isp or try again in few hours.
sometimes i have the same problem in my domain www.prates.net

I have just had the same problem start. Evolution has been working fine. Nothing in the settings has changed, but I can receive but not send.
It doesn't even throw up an error message. The status box just shows the smtp status as waiting...
I can send emails with another client on all accounts. Any suggestions?

I can get mail but my smtpauth. times out when sending mail. It takes about 10 minutes, before timing out.

I have had the same issue, everything worked the last time I used my laptop. This time it receives mail from two different servers, but will not send. It sent OK last week!!

Can receive but can not send. Get the following message:

SMIP server "mail.pclnet.mail"
does not support requested authenication PLAIN.

Don't know what to do?

Any help appricated : )
Just installed UBUNTU and every thing else is great.
