Evolution incoming emails don't go to 'Inbox'??

Asked by Rene Zwart

All incoming emails appear in my 'Friends' folder instead of the 'Inbox'. I have filters directing various email to my 'friends' folder, but suddenly all go there, without any new mails in the 'Inbox'. The 'Friends' filter is not the first in line. Any idea where to look? I noted that all my mail folders are represented as folders in the Evolution directory except for a 'inbox'; should that be there as well (basically where does the program store incoming emails. Within the program itself the 'Inbox' was not empty, it just didn't get the new mails in there). Thanks, Rene.

If I were trying to force incoming messages to go somewhere other than inbox I would set up a rule to deal with them.

Check that you have not accidentally set a rule for this

From the menu select "Edit" > "Message Filters"

By default you shouldn't have any set, but if you do make sure the rules are clear so they only affect the messages you want them to.

Hi Warren, I had quite a few rules set. Deleted them all and it is working normal again. Thanks, Rene.
