How to access evolution emails after installing 12.04LTS

I have made a clean installation from a bootable USB of 12.04LTS. Before the installation I saved my home directory including hidden files on a USB hard disk. I then copied this home directory to the new installation and downloaded and installed Evolution. I have not been able to link all the evolution data from the previous installation to the new installation. Can anyone suggest any steps to make all my stored data appear in the new installation? I believe you will need to resetup the account but evolution should use the email files you restore, make sure you chown the files you copied to your new user once they are in place.

I have found the solution to my question. I had not noticed that the new home directory contained a copy of the old home directory,hence evolution was only using data entered after the upgrade
