Can't import memos

Asked by Jeffrey Needle

Using Evolution 2.28.3 on a Ubuntu Linux 10.04 box.

I had saved my Memos to an .ics file before having to reformat my hard disk. I lost my Evolution backup in a crash.
I've just reinstalled the entire system, and everything seemed to work okay, except I can't get my memos back into Evolution. Trying to import the .ics file doesn't give me an option of importing into memos, only tasks or calendar files.

Does anyone know how I can get the memos back into the Memos area of Evolution? Thanks.

I'm sorry, but the feature hasn't been implemented into Evolution yet.

Thanks. That's too bad. It would be nice.

Take care.

I know it is not current any more but maybe it'll help some people coming from a search engine:
I have just struggled with the same problem and I reached my goal by adding a „Neue Notizliste“= new memo list:

• second click on the existing memo list: „Persönlich“=personal
• first menu entry „Neue Notizliste“=new memo list
→ a new window opens
• choose „Eine vorhandene iCalendar-Datei (*.ics) verwenden“=use an existing iCalendar-file (*.ics)
• select your file and click „OK“
• now you have the opportunity to select all your memos (ctrl + a) and pick and place them in the first memo list
• now your new memo list ist empty and you may delete it with the right click on the new memo list and „Löschen“=delete
