Evolution POP errors connecting to AT&T

Asked by margaret jones

Evolution, connecting to AT&T started getting "Could not connect to pop.att.yahoo.com: Connection reset by peer" errors late this week for POP receiving emails only.

SMTP works fine for sending.

No settings were changed before this started happening.

Has anything changed in Evolution or its dependant libraries?

AT&T support says these are the settings to use for POP:

    Server: pop.att.yahoo.com
    Port: 995
    User Connection: SSL Encryption

For "Authentication Type", the setting has remains "Password".

Is there anything we can try?

Thanks!

Port 995 is a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) port. Did you check that you have that enabled what connecting?

Yes, checked Port 995.

Evolution was not available for 6 days and then it simply reappeared on its own. Problem solved for now.
