Email Options/Backup Options

Asked by Charles Harris

Hi

Does Evolution Email get downloaded with 11.04 or do I have to get from web ? Using WLM (unfortuanately) at the moment what is recommended Evolution or Thunderbird ?

Is there a suitable Ubuntu or compatible 'cloud' backup just for personal computer, not business. Just for docs and images etc. Freeware if poss.

I use Kapersky with Win7. Will I need to keep kapersky (costs $$) when using Ubuntu as dual boot ?

I look forward to being Ubuntu user.

Thanks

Charlie

Hey Charles.
Evolution or Thunderbird is a personal preference, I prefer Thunderbird. Thunderbird come pre-installed on Ubuntu 11.10 though you can install anything you like via the Ubuntu Software Center.

sync/cloud services that you can use.
https://one.ubuntu.com/ - I use this and love it.
http://www.dropbox.com/ - you can install this from the ubuntu software center.

backup utilities
deja dup - https://launchpad.net/deja-dup
rsync - https://help.ubuntu.com/community/rsync

when you dual boot, your other OS will not be effected by Ubuntu. Not unless you specifically make changes to it.

there are other options obviously not listed. Welcome to Ubuntu Charles.

Can you help with this problem?
